Christmas Week

Hola!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! How was it Mom and Dad? We had a good day here. I loved all the gifts, thank you so much to everyone who sent me one! Dad I'm wearing one of the headbands you got me right now, I love it. Nice job, once again. Umm let's see... I just wrote two days ago so I don't feel like I have too much to say now! Parents I made copies of my flight plans and will be sending them in the mail tomorrow. So that way you can have it all right there. But I will have a good amount of time to call, especially during my 9-hour layover at the airport in Peru... My calling card is international, right?? I'm excited to talk to you guys!

Mom, thank you soo much for the colored pencils. They are perfect! And I wasn't gonna say anything but one of my other colors broke too. So I'm glad you got me the whole box instead of just the red :) Thank you. I will be sending home a box probably Thursday of stuff I don't need or can't fit in my bags. I don't know if I mentioned this Sunday but my carryon can only be 17 pounds. So that stinks. I can have my regular two 50-pound bags. And the rest I'm gonna have to leave or send home. Mom you said you'd pay for it if I go overweight, trust me you don't want to do that. For int'l flights they say it's about $300. Soooo, yeah I'm not gonna have you do that. No worries. I'll figure it out. I started packing today already, because I'm pretty stressed about having everything fit and not be over the weight limit... My books and scriptures and journals alone weigh 22 pounds. So that's awesome.

Okay so in other news I have shin splints! Super cool. I found out last week, when my shins were hurting while I was running. At the gym they have trainers there who know physical therapy stuff. So I went and talked to them and so I haven't been working out the past week, but rather doing stretches and exercises and icing my shins for 20 minutes each day. Perfect timing to not be running with all the Christmas treats everyone sent me... Yep. Perfect timing. But really I'm just grateful I found out when I did and not in a week from now when I'm in Chile, walking everywhere. Cause I would have kept running and made them worse. And not known how to take care of them, not have ice or time to ice, etc. Sooo, it's all good. I miss running. I'm going a little crazy here, tired of the MTC and so excited to leave. Running has helped me stay sane. And now I'm getting more antsy, so now I would be running even more to keep me relatively sane.... Ohhh well.... I've been praying for patience so here is my opportunity to learn some :) Haha. Be careful what you pray for folks. ;)

To everyone: I just want to apologize if I take awhile writing back to you. I really, really appreciate receiving letters and dear elders and packages and everything! You all are so great! The life of a missionary is super busy, even on P-day. So, I'm sorry if it takes me awhile. Just know that I appreciate the love, and I love you in return, and you will get a letter back some day :) Annie I got your dear elder on the 15th but I still haven't gotten the letter you said you were sending me.... Makes me worried, cause the mail room closes on 12/30 and doesn't open until 1/2, the day I leave...Soooo if you haven't sent it yet, don't send it here. Send it to Chile. That goes for everyone- Don't send me any more dear elders or letters cause I probably won't get them!! I don't know what they do with mail that comes for missionaries after they leave... I would like to think they'd forward it on, but at the same time they probably don't have a lot of time to do that. So, who knows. Mom also I haven't gotten Cody's letter yet, I'm really sad that I might miss it haha. That will be 4 letters of ours that have gotten lost in the mail now if I miss this one, so I'll let you know if I don't have it by the time I leave and then if you could, send him an email telling him I missed it. Haha so sad. Oh well. Shout out to Alison and Natalie Williams, thank you for the Christmas card! You guys are so cute. Also to the Robertson family , if you see this- loved the Christmas card, you all are beautiful and the updates on everyones lives on the back were super funny.

Sorry, this email is pretty boring.... And short, but oh well I hope you still love me anyway. I'll be able to email and do laundry again before I leave on Monday... Probably will be emailing Saturday or Sunday, talking to you (parents) on Monday/Tuesday.... And then I have no idea when my P-day will be in Chile so I don't know when I'll be able to email next week. Ahhh next week! I'm gonna be in Chile next week!!! Soooo excited! I've met a couple teachers here who are from Concepcion, and also a teacher (girl) who served there and just got back a few months ago. They are telling me great things, I can't wait to be down there :)

Welp, that's about it for today. I love you all so much and I thank you for your support and prayers on my behalf and on behalf of my family. The gospel of Jesus Christ is true, and it's the only way to be truly, permanently, eternally happy. If we try our best Heavenly Father will give us more blessings than we could imagine.

Have a great week! And oh yeah, Happy New Year!! Weird, I can't believe it'll be 2012 in a few days. I hope you all have fun, be safe, and drink some sparkling cider for me!

Amor y abrazos,
Hermana Danielle Anderton
